Welcome to the website of Chorley Tennis Club…the
place to play in Chorley, Lancashire if you're looking for
a friendly environment, tennis partners, affordable membership,
social tennis and many competitive opportunities, including
the Club tournament, ladders and no fewer than 7 senior League
teams…
Facilities
Chorley Tennis Club, adjacent to the town's
Cricket Club and formerly known as Windsor Tennis Club, has
come on leaps and bounds in the past few years. Thanks to
a lottery grant in 2001, and loans and grants from the LTA
and Chorley Borough Council, we now have five all-weather
courts, a comfortable clubhouse with showers and kitchen,
and two mini tennis courts for little ones. There is disabled
access throughout and the five courts are flood-lit so we
can play well into the evening, summer and winter.
No Partner Required
One of the Club's strengths is our Club times on Sunday afternoons
and Tuesday evenings when seniors and older juniors
come down and everyone mixes in. Perfect for those without
a regular partner, they're also an ideal chance to play
tennis with people of all abilities. What's more, it's
a great chance to show off your talents in front of
committee members and team captains who are often present…
Affordable
For those who want just a friendly knock-about,
and who are maybe looking to keep fit or to extend their social
circle, Chorley Tennis Club is also the place to be. Very
affordable subs with no joining fee make the Club accessible
to all, including pensioners, students and the unemployed.
We have introduced a daytime membership which allows adults
unlimited play during weekdays only until 4pm, at just £40
per year. See a full list of annual membership
rates.
Respected
Club Chorley Tennis Club is
LTA affiliated and participates in the LTA's 'Club Vision' scheme.
We have seven teams in two different senior leagues plus three
junior teams and four junior squads. We also have a qualified coach
on hand for group and individual coaching at all levels and all
ages.
Junior Play
Our juniors are of course the
future of the Club - and who knows? maybe British tennis - and we
have a plethora of activities and playing opportunities open to
young people aged from 4-18, as well as a rule which gives juniors
priority on one of the courts until 9pm every day. See our Juniors
section for more details.
So, welcome to our site
which we hope you'll find useful and informative. And, if you're not
already one of our members, we hope we'll be seeing you soon down at
the Club.
