Club Times
Sunday afternoons and Tuesday
evenings continue as Club times - when all members are invited to
come along and play, with everyone mixing in.
Court Allocation
On Wednesdays and Thursdays
during the season three of the five courts are likely to be taken up
with team matches, from 6.15pm. There are usually two courts
available for general use, with Court One having Junior priority
until 9pm, so don't be put off from coming along. Teams are also
grateful for support and encouragement from members.
On alternate Mondays, all courts will be taken up with Bolton
Men's league matches from around 6pm; on the other Mondays courts
should be free. Please see the new Fixtures notice in the clubhouse
for details; we hope you'll understand and will check out the list
before turning up to play, so you're not disappointed.
If you want to book a court
or courts for a match or team practice at any other time, please
contact Anne Warhurst. She keeps a record so everyone knows if
courts will be in use – please don’t forget to consult Anne if
you want a court at a particular time. Tel: 01257 411953.
Visitors
If you'd like to bring down
non-members to the Club to play on a very occasional basis, they are
of course very welcome. We ask for a contribution of £3 per
visitor, to be paid to Ian McClelland or any committee member.
Please note though, full members have priority on courts at all
times.
Cricket Club
We work with the Cricket Club
to provide social opportunities and facilitate even better
relationships between the Clubs. We will be exchanging newsletters
and info - check out the Clubhouse notice board for the latest
updates. The Cricket Club also has a function room available for
hire to anyone; please contact Christine Slater on 07742 395687 for
details. Tennis club members are also welcome in the Cricket Club
bar at any time.
Please note that the Cricket
Club has priority over all car-parking spaces. During their First
Eleven home cricket matches, Tennis Club members are asked to please
respect this and park on Walgarth Drive or park on rough grass at
the sides of the pitch if accessible. Thanks.
Club T-Shirts
We still have a large number
of Chorley Tennis Club T-shirts in stock! Perhaps a new one for the
new season? They also look good when playing as a team!
Contact Simon Brewer on 0774
342 7032. Adults' cost £5, children's £3.50 - cash or cheque
payments welcome!
Nets
Please wind the net down when
you've finished playing. It prolongs not only the net's life but
also the courts’, as permanently tautened nets drag on the
netposts, causing the courts to fracture. Please do your bit to keep
costs down. Thank you!
Security
Members are issued with the
code for the keypad at the Cricket Club entrance. Please remember to
use the code to lock the gate if you are the last one out.
